Approach and maritime conditions: Stråholmen is located 4 - 5 nautical miles north of the guest harbour on Jomfruland. Approach from the northeast. Pay special attention to the shoal extending north-northwest from the harbour towards Denmark and Rugsekken.
Anchoring: The harbour at Stråholmen has a built-up breakwater with a few guest spots for mooring with an anchor. Outside the breakwater, it is ideal to anchor or moor with an anchor towards the shore. Anchoring depth is 3-6 meters with good bottom conditions.
The area: Stråholmen is a charming place with several cabins and a large open area. There is a nice and child-friendly beach inside the breakwater.

Approach and maritime conditions: Øitangen is located in Jomfrulandsrenna, at the very north of the island, about one nautical mile north of the guest harbour at Tårnbrygga. Approaching from both north and south with good markings.
Anchoring: Mooring areas with good seabed conditions for anchoring. The depth varies from 5 to 12 meters, depending on the distance from the shore. There is also a simple dock here with reserved spots, among other things, for visitors to the DNT cabins, in addition to a docking spot for taxi boats from Kragerø and Valle. It's shallow along the shore, so keep a bit of distance. Here you lie safely from all winds from the south and east, but the afternoon breeze from the southwest can be annoying. You can also clearly feel the waves from passing boats.
The area: Jomfruland offers great hiking opportunities, beaches, and attractions. A real summer paradise. At Øitangen, you will also find the DNT's cabin complex and the Bird Tower, which is set up at the very north of the island.

Risøyholmene is a popular family harbor with many islets for anchoring with a stern line to shore, options for mooring alongside rock walls, anchoring at swing, and some smaller docks. The anchoring depth is mainly less than 5 meters.
There is easy access from the southwest, but be aware of wash rocks. Most of the rocks are marked.
The area is well sheltered from most wind directions but can be exposed to winds from the west.

At the top of Norsjø, you will find Norsjø Ferieland, which has become a large center with a guest harbor, cabins, etc. There is a lot of activity here in the summer, not least because of the wakeboard track.
Easy access. Longside mooring at floating jetty. The outer part of the jetty was a bit worn, better spots further in towards land.

The old Østre Akkerhaugen dock, which was used as a ferry terminal and a landing spot for canal boats, has been continued as a simple guest dock. There is space for only one boat (size 30 - 40 feet). The maximum stay duration is 2 days.
There is a beach and a sculpture park in the immediate vicinity and within walking distance to Norsjø Ferieland.

Simple municipal guest harbor with space for a few boats. Maximum stay is 2 days.
The Kolahuset was historically a docking place for canal boats and an industrial center in the village. Among other uses, it was employed for the transportation of materials during the construction of the Southern Railway, with its own railway track laid up to Nordagutu.

Vestre Akkerhaugen pier was historically a ferry berth and docking site for canal boats. Today, the area is mainly managed by Akkerhaugen Boat Association with private spots, but there is a small municipal guest pier reserved with space for a few boats.
Walking distance to Akkerhaugen center.

Large guest pier with space for many boats. Easily visible on the riverbank. Quite shallow towards the pier (2 - 3 meters). Wise to dock against the current, even if you often get the wind from behind.
Practical pier right next to the shopping center. Not so pleasant to stay for other purposes.

Merk at tømmeanlegget for kloakk ligger i Hjellevannet, på oversiden av slusa.

Kviteseid is an old cultural center in Telemark and well worth a visit. Cozy little center with a few cafes and a dockside restaurant (which was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the summer of 2025).
Simple guest pier with power, water, and (functioning) pump-out facilities. Payment via Vipps.

A great mooring area with space for many boats. Easy approach from Larviksfjorden in the west or from the sea in the south. Be aware of some rocks. Most are marked.
Anchoring depth typically 5-6 meters, up to 10 meters towards the mouth of the bay. Good bottom conditions with sand and/or clay.
The entire Viksfjorden is a gem with many great places to explore.
