Very pleasant area.

There is good depth in the harbor even though several updated nautical charts show the entire bay as drying out. My depth gauge showed 8 meters in the middle of the quay and over 3 meters at the entrance. The actual entrance is hidden until you are inside the harbor. You turn starboard right after the fish industry.

Approach and maritime conditions: The Tukthuset is located at the westernmost part of Meløya. Enter the harbor between the breakwater and the buoy. Approach from the south is straightforward, from the north it is a bit more complicated. There are overhead cables in some straits that sailing boats need to be aware of.
Docking: Guest spots are at the outermost part of the first floating dock. Docking in rope loops.
The area: Near Meløy Church, approximately 3.5 km from the harbor, you can find groceries, a pub, and the historical center of Meløy. COOP Meløy has placed bicycles for loan in the harbor.

Approach and maritime conditions: Kvaløyvågen is located at the northernmost point of Kvaløya. Easy approach from Kvaløysundet.
Mooring: Moor alongside on the outside of the outermost floating dock. Adequate depth for all vessels. There are some crossing bollards on the dock.
Area: Local shop with a good selection right by the dock.

Vik is located right by the inner route through Flatanger, navigation from there is simple.

The west side of the outermost part of the middle floating dock is for guest mooring. The dock is slightly skewed, but otherwise solid and seems to be in good condition. Mooring must be threaded through the list along the dock.

Small, but clean and acceptable bathroom in the middle of the western of the white rental buildings.

There is a diesel and gasoline pump at the far west on the fixed dock by the rental buildings. But no instructions on how to pay.

Very friendly hosts at Skjærbrygga. They can offer most types of tourist experiences in Lofoten.

There is some navigation to get in, but it is deep and well-marked. Northeasterly winds can be a bit unpleasant in the harbor.

A new and shorter floating dock has been installed with space for approximately one boat per side.

Possible to moor on the inside of the breakwater. Nordland Express stirs up the sea so you should use plenty of fenders. Watch out for the rescue ladder in the middle of the quay.

The harbor is exposed to northwesterly winds. There was a notice on the quay that boats over 40 feet were not allowed to dock at the floating piers when wind speeds exceeded 15 m/s.

There was also a notice that they had closed the marine diesel pump due to low turnover. It is still possible to get fuel on land.

The guest dock is the floating dock furthest to the east. It is shallow at the innermost part.

At low tide, sailboats should stay near the wooden dock (Langbrua), both before and through the entrance past the breakwater.

Very protected harbor. The guest berths are at the far end of a transverse section not shown in the aerial photo. There is electricity and water, but a long cable/hose is required to reach the guest quay.

Approach and maritime conditions: Approach from the north or south. The marina's facilities are located quite far south in the strait. There was a buoy (possibly temporarily placed) just outside the quay when I arrived, a bit awkwardly positioned. Easy to steer around as long as it is seen.

Also guest berths at Helnessund Brygge further north in the strait.
Mooring: Guests berth alongside the floating quay that runs along the strait at the outermost point of the southern pier.
The area: Great service building with shower, washing machine, and dryer.

Entrance and maritime conditions: Sortland Marina is located right by the channel, a little over a kilometer south of the town center. The harbor has a depth of 2 meters.
Berthing: Berthing alongside the floating dock in the middle of the harbor, without designated slots.
The area: Grocery and hardware stores are just across the main road from the harbor. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the town center with all facilities.
