Aorrussaarssuk est le mouillage le mieux abrité de la région. Cependant, les armateurs locaux ont pris l'habitude d'y abandonner leurs bateaux en fin de vie et, au fil des années, ce magnifique endroit s'est transformé en véritable cimetière de bateaux.
Approche :
L'île située au centre des entrées n'est pas franche.
Par la passe du nord : rester bien au milieu de la passe.
Par la passe du nord-est : l'île centrale déborde largement sur la passe nord-est ; il faut donc privilégier le côté sud-est de la passe.
On mouille entre 10 et 17 mètres sur un fond de bonne tenue, avec des aussières frappées à terre. En juillet, ce mouillage devient populaire auprès des voiliers en attente du passage du Nord-Ouest. Il peut accueillir quatre à cinq bateaux.
Une rivière apporte une eau douce et claire.
En traversant le chenal en annexe, puis en marchant jusqu'à l'aéroport, on peut rejoindre Upernavik en moins d'une heure.
Au milieu de l'entrée de la crique Est repose l'épave du Dodo's Delight, de Bob Shepton, un voilier de 10 mètres qui a coulé après avoir pris feu lors d'un hivernage.
