description
Aguadulce has a very well-run harbour.
The crew in the ‘control tower’ speak fluent English and all of them are very welcoming. The mariners are also very helpful and present all day round.
The harbour is very easy to access. There are no problems at all entering it. As soon as you enter, you’ll see the control tower on the left.
The petrol station is also located there. There are several ‘waiting spaces’ where you can stop / tie up to visit the harbour office and register.
There are sufficient toilets and showers available, and they are well maintained.
You can have post and parcels sent directly to the control tower!
The launderette – right in the heart of the harbour – has washing machines and tumble dryers.
There is also a good hotel right in the harbour – which is very convenient if you need to accommodate additional guests.
The harbour hosts a wide variety of restaurants.
There is something to suit almost every taste.
The harbour, and indeed the many eateries, are also very popular with the local population, particularly at weekends.
The range of nautical supplies is rather limited, with just one small supplier.
However, they are happy to order anything you need from a very extensive catalogue.
There is also a shipyard with dry dock facilities.
The town offers plenty of shopping opportunities.
Right by the main road next to the harbour, there’s a small shop where you can pick up the essentials for the day.
On the way to Lidl (about a 15-minute walk), you’ll find everything you need: banks, pharmacies and so on.
AlboranCarRental (https://alboranautos.com/eng/index.php) also delivers rental cars at reasonable prices directly to the harbour.
A taxi provides quick and easy access to the shopping centre above the town, which,
amongst other shops, features a Carrefour supermarket and a large Obramat DIY store.
The DIY store does not have a ‘nautical’ section, but everything you might need for
a building site is available here.
Almería, the nearest major city, is a 30-minute drive (by taxi) away.
It also has an airport (LEI) with several daily flights to Madrid (MAD) – and from
there you can reach the whole world.
Málaga (AGP), with a much larger airport, is about a 2-hour drive away.
It’s also easy to get there with BlaBlaCar (https://www.blablacar.co.uk/).
We spent several months in Aquadulce whilst our boat was being repaired and were looked after very well.
A huge thank you to the harbour team, especially Jessica!

Do you know this harbour? It's a huge help to other sailors if you add a short description or review of the harbour.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 5 timer siden (Sunday 17 May 02:15 AM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
The safe wind directions for this harbour has been decided by an algorithm, based on how elevated the land around the harbour is. It's mostly correct, but sometimes the underlying data about elevation levels is not good enough to make correct decisions. It's a great help to other if you can validate or adjust the safe wind directions. You can see the data used by the algorithm to decide the safe wind directions by clicking here.
