Grande baie ouverte à la glace. Lorsqu'on va au nord, Atanikerdluk constitue un mouillage pratique pour attendre des conditions favorables.
On mouille par 7 à 8 mètres de fond, juste derrière la langue de terre de Nunguaq, sur un fond de sable et de galets. En raison de la pente prononcée du fond, qui plonge rapidement, la tenue est moyenne à faible. Il est possible de frapper des aussières à terre.
Par marée de vive-eau, la langue de terre peut être partiellement submergé.
