Harbour; Pleasant harbor with easy access. Wooden pier facing the small boat harbor has shallow depth.
For boats with up to approximately 1.5 m draft, the best spot is around the corner at the entrance to the boat harbor. Here there is also a "floating" gangway that makes it easier to come ashore.
Spots with boat orientation north/south towards east are more unsettled.
Avoid this harbor in eastern wind.
If possible, it is best to lie with the bow pointing east as there can be some waves from ferries further inside the fjord. Good facilities in the white building up on the quay.

Balestrand is a typical tourist village, with many hotels. English church (governed from Gibraltar).

Many beautiful Swiss-style villas, and a beautiful beach a few hundred meters west of the harbor.
Travel Museum. The Høyvik Hall at Kvikne Hotel is also worth a visit with magnificent wood carvings. It is said that the chair in which Kaiser Wilhelm sat when he learned that World War I had broken out is here.
