Many good places for mooring alongside in the strait on the west side of Lekerøya, with over 3 meters depth throughout the strait until you reach Pjolter Bay. Many bolts and rings along the cliffs. A short dinghy ride to Risør, with a floating dock at the innermost part of the Vågen in Risør which is fine for tying up the dinghies.

Stayed here one night at anchor, August 23. Few boats and plenty of space. Good holding ground. Entered and exited from the north through the passage west of Lekerøya.

Approach and maritime conditions: The Boom (or Pjolter Bay as many call this place) is located just east of Risør center and is a popular natural harbor. The Boom is sheltered between some islets, and you can enter from the northeast or west. The northeastern passage is recommended for sailboats.
Anchoring: Mooring with a stern anchor towards the shore or anchoring at a depth of 6-10 meters. Mud bottom with medium hold, with a risk of getting tangled in old moorings and debris from previous industry nearby.
Docks: There are also quay facilities on Risøya, just east of Pjolter Bay.
