Cambridge is the essential technical stopover for sailing boats using the Northwest Passage. You will find very friendly locals, diesel fuel, water, two or three supermarkets or convenience stores, a hardware store, as well as a mechanical workshop.
A slipway allows fishing boats to be hauled out, but it is not really suitable for small to medium-sized sailing boats.
The quay is T-shaped. It is public and free of charge. In case of chop, the best-protected spot is located inside the T, on the east side. Despite its cramped appearance, it allows mooring a sailing boat up to 16 or 17 meters.
Diesel:
For fuel delivery by tanker truck, contact Qillaq at +1 867 983 2818.
The diesel price is 1.6028 CAD per litre (August 2026), plus 525 CAD delivery charges per tanker truck. If fuel is delivered to multiple boats at the same time, these costs can be shared.
