description
The inner anchorage provides exceptionasl protection from waves during wind from any direction. There is room for many boats. The bottom is about 12 feet (2-1/2 metres) and is clay and is good for holding. It is surrounded by scenic cliffs about 100 feet (30 metres0 high). There is a hiking trail to a scenic lookout. There was no problem with mosquitoes here. There is no formal swimming area but the swimming is good just jumping off your boat.
When entering the inner harbour, keep to the left becauise of rocks on the right (north-east) side of the enterance. There do not seem to be any obstructions once inside the inner harbour. There are no facilities at all here and none nearby.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated -143 minutes ago (Sunday 24 August 12:18 PM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
The safe wind directions for this harbour has been decided by an algorithm, based on how elevated the land around the harbour is. It's mostly correct, but sometimes the underlying data about elevation levels is not good enough to make correct decisions. It's a great help to other if you can validate or adjust the safe wind directions. You can see the data used by the algorithm to decide the safe wind directions by clicking here.
The visits are retrieved from AIS data. You can click to see all visiting ships to Covered Portage Cove (outside), as well as statistics about the ships that visits
