Mooring: Engen pier has several guest spots alongside the floating dock. If the dock is full, it is perfectly fine to anchor further in closer to the beach. There is good depth quite far in.
The area: About 2 km gravel road to Svartisvannet. Several companies arrange guided tours up on the glacier which can be highly recommended. This usually includes a bus ride from the pier all the way up to where the climb towards the glacier starts.
