Fjellbacka is an old fishing community dominated by a large granite church and the mountain behind the village. Fjellbacka is a popular tourist destination for both boaters and drivers. Despite the cars, it is a charming place with old buildings. Many of the old houses are used today as holiday homes, while the permanent residents have moved further inland to modern houses. There are several restaurants and cafes along the waterfront, and further up the hill, there are more shops. You will also find art shops here with artists using Fjellbacka's archipelago as their inspiration.

A nice excursion is to climb Vetterfjellet through Ramneklovan - a long and deep gorge in the mountain. Start at the Ingrid Bergman statue in the square. At the top, there is a fantastic view over the immense archipelago outside Fjellbacka. The dominant granite church is also worth a visit, and sometimes concerts are held here.

There is a large guest harbor with docks both by the square and outside the bathing island. The latter is a longer walk to the center, but you have a short distance to the bathing area. There are showers and toilets at the square and on the bathing island, and water is available on the docks. You are safe in the harbor, but the southwest wind is strong here.
