description
You enter the harbor through a scenic cut that opens to a large harbor that is excellent for anchoring. There is a marina resort with a pool here - the resort does have dock space but it's usually by reservation only and heavily booked. Upland, there is a pool and a large RV campground and some cabins.
If you are planning to anchor in the harbor, it's busy with lots of mooring balls but there is plenty of room to anchor. While the harbor looks very well protected, if there is a strong northwesterly, it blows straight out of the northwest end of the harbor and funnels through the harbor. We were anchored in 20 knots with gusts up to 30 knots for a few hours while we waited for a spot to open at the marina, and it was exciting.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated -394 minutes ago (Thursday 06 August 12:17 AM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
The safe wind directions for this harbour has been decided by an algorithm, based on how elevated the land around the harbour is. It's mostly correct, but sometimes the underlying data about elevation levels is not good enough to make correct decisions. It's a great help to other if you can validate or adjust the safe wind directions. You can see the data used by the algorithm to decide the safe wind directions by clicking here.
