Det er flere gjestehavner i Gøteborg. Jeg har ligget i Långedrag et stykke utenfor sentrum, men jeg vil anbefale Gøteborg gjestehavn ved Lilla Bommen i sentrum. Den ligger ved operaen midt i sentrum og det er kort vei til det meste. Det finnes også en gjestehavn i en marina lenger opp i Göta elv. Innseilingen til Gøteborg er preget av store industrihavner. Det er nordens største havn med mange skipsanløp hver dag, men det er god plass til fritidsbåter også. Man passerer en fantastisk kopi av et krigsskip fra seilskutetida.

Gøteborg er en by på størrelse med Oslo. Man seiler ikke hit for å oppleve sjarm, idyll eller vakker natur. Her finne man alt en storby kan by på. Gøteborg har brede boulevarder og store. staselige hus og synes å ha vært en rikere by en Oslo. Mange restauranter og cafeer med uteservering på sommeren. De viktigste attraksjonene for ferierende er Liseberg og Universeum. De ligger 10 minutter med buss (rød eller grønn rute) fra havnen. Liseberg er et stort tivoli med nordens største og skumleste berg og dalbane. Her er det enormt mange folk i ferietiden og køer på opptil en time for en tur. Her går pengene fort. Universeum er en blanding av en zoologisk hage, akvarium og teknisk museum. Personlig synes jeg Universeum er lang å foretrekke fremfor Liseberg.

Gøteborg gjestehavn er godt beskyttet for alle vinder. Det er strøm og vann på bryggene og WC, dusj og vakemaskiner ved havnekontoret. Det er ganske åpent rundt havnen og en stor plass og veier må krysses før man kommer til selve byen. Det skjer ikke mye i havnen. Det er en liten café ved siden av havnekontoret og en pub i barken Viking som ligger ved gjestehavnen. Det er et stort seilskip som brukes som hotell. På den andre siden av den store plassen, ligger et stort kjøpesenter med bl. a. matvarer. Her starter også handlegatene.
