Hamburgsund gjestehavn ligger midt i det lange sundet mellom Hamburgø og fastlandet, ved fergeleiet. Det er gjestehavn på begge sider av sundet. På landsiden er det butikk og café, på øysiden er det minigolf.

Den nordlige delen av hamburgsund er sjarmerende med sjøboder og vakre hus på begge sider. Ved gjestehavnen er det ikke like sjarmerende. Her er det en blanding av næringsbygg, boligblokker og fritidsboliger.

Havnen ligger relativt godt skjermet for vestlige vinder, og det er gjerne gunnen til å ligge her når vinden er sterk. Det er likevel et drag gjennom sundet.
