Innseiling og maritime forhold: Godværshavn, det bærer nok inn i viken som er åpen fra NE til SE. God beskyttelse av 300m høy bratt skrent på tre sider.
Ankring: God ankerbunn (sand) på 5-10 meter. Du må ta jolla til fjæresteinene. Brygga på stedet kan man bruke, men den er gammel og vanskelig å komme på toppen av ved lavvann.
Området: Poenget med stedet er nærheten til Nordkappplatået. Etter den 300 meter høye oppstigningen til platået på delvis bratt, men god sti, er det bare en snau km til turistattraksjonen Nordkapp (gratis for de som kommer dit gående eller syklende). Hornvika har før veien ble åpnet i 1956 vært eneste adkomst til Nordkapp, hit ble turistene fraktet med båt.
