description
Approach and maritime conditions: Langvikbukta is a narrow bay on the eastern side of Bygdøy in Oslo. It provides very good protection against wind from the south and west. Because the bay is very narrow, you must anchor in the middle to avoid swinging into docks and moored boats. There is only room for a couple of boats here. Be aware that you are in close proximity to quite a few private houses and gardens. Many will probably find it a bit too tight and feel like intruders. The bay is very well sheltered from wind from the west and south.
Anchoring: Anchoring at 7-12 meters depth. Mud bottom and not very good holding. There are buoys here as well, but you can assume these are private.
The area: At the innermost part of the bay, you can go ashore from a dinghy. There is a grass meadow and a kayak club, so the area is less private than the surrounding gardens. Up a steep hill, you are on Bygdøy and can walk to Huk for swimming or take the bus into the city.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 2 hours and 4 minutes ago (Wednesday 30 April 10:35 AM).
