Malmön is a very pleasant marina with a couple of good restaurants and a very good fishmonger who offers the finest products for sale. There is a small grocery store in the harbor where you can get the most necessary items.

There is a smaller boat that goes between Smögen and Malmön, which you can use if you want something different than what Malmön has to offer.

Malmön has some fantastic swimming spots and beautiful beaches, as well as great hiking areas.

The approach is easy, and you are well protected from most winds as long as you are on the inside of the floating docks. You can dock either between Y-booms, stern mooring to a buoy, or alongside.

Malmön is a vacation island just south of Smögen, but there are also many permanent residents there. There is a free car ferry to the island, but there is little car traffic. There are two guest harbors: One is located in the old harbor in a well-protected cove. Nothing much happens here, but it is a short distance to swimming spots and beaches just south of the harbor. The other is in a private marina a little further north. Here, there are a couple of restaurants and a grocery store.

The place is quite pleasant. There are detached houses with gardens and nearly a neighborhood with holiday homes by the marina. There is an 18-hole mini-golf course with some original courses between the two guest harbors.

The strongest feature of the place is the swimming spots south of the old harbor. There is a small beach and smooth rocks right by the harbor, but a few hundred meters further south, there is a great beach with a swimming pier. Swimming lessons are also offered here.

The old harbor is well protected from all winds. The newer marina has floating docks further out. You also lie safely here, but it can be a bit swell with northeasterly winds. The marina has water and electricity on the dock and a somewhat worn-down service facility with toilets and showers.
