description
Middelsgrund Fort or Ungomsøen is well worth a visit. It is a small island, although it is the world's largest artificial island without a mainland connection. The island is owned and operated by the Danish scouts (spejdarna & YMCA / YWCA), and the entire island is a playground for learning and skills in true scout spirit. However, there is no formal playground, so it may not be optimized for the very youngest children.
There is a bathing area; it is small and simple. The small beach was, during our visit, full of rotting seaweed and unpleasant, but by the small diving tower the water was fresh and clean (though not suitable for the very youngest).
Inside the fort there are toilets and showers.
At the quay there is a simple kiosk.
Fees depend on the number of people on board and their ages; adults pay significantly more than the little ones.
The harbor is somewhat poorly sheltered when the wind is from the south. Berthing is alongside the quay, the old space station military quays, which are approximately half a meter higher than a typical guest boat quay.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 1 hour and 28 minutes ago (Tuesday 01 September 09:36 AM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
