Mollösund ligger midt i leden innenfor Mollön. Her er en godt beskyttet havn. Kanskje ikke så sjarmerende pga. bilparkering rundt havnen og fiskeindustri rett ved, men fin utsikt til tettstedet. Syd for havnen ligger cafeer og en restaurant med flott sjøutsikt.

Mollösund har en blanding av ny og gammel bebyggelse. Men sydover langs sjøen er en brostenslagt gate med godt bevarte og rehabiliterte gamle små hus. Her er det pyntet med blomster og det er veldig idyllisk. Her står det dyre biler parkert og husene er nok fritidsboliger for rike Gøteborgere. Kirken i tre litt lenger opp er verd et besøk. En gammel vindmølle setter også preg på stedet.

Over en bakketopp fra havnen finner vi en populær badeplass. Ved fyret nord for havnen er det svaberg og badeplass for voksne. Her er det også flott å sitte når solen gå ned.

I havnen er det vann og strøm, toaletter og dusjer. Like ved ligger en liten dagligvarebutikk.
