description
The most spectacular anchorage I have ever been to. It is nice here even in the rain.
Inste Holmaviki just inside the beacon. The passenger boats are not a problem.
There is poor GPS coverage in some places due to the high mountains.
A decent dinghy trip to Gudvangen, with a supermarket (Joker), 98 octane gasoline, and restaurants.

description
Approach and maritime conditions: One of the few places in the area where it is possible to anchor. No quays or facilities on land. The commercial traffic moves at low speed in this strait, so the waves are not bothering.
Anchoring: Mooring at anchor, possibly with a line ashore.
The area: Note that due to high mountains, this side of the fjord is undersunned. Keep an eye out for seals basking on the rocks.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 1 hour and 37 minutes ago (Monday 02 December 08:26 AM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
The safe directions for this harbour was added at 13. Jul 2021. Click here to edit.
Nærøyfjorden, Holmaviki is surrounded by high hills or mountains. When strong winds come from the mountainous side there is a risk of turbulent or katabatic winds (also called "fall winds"), which may be rather unpleasant. In such conditions, you should not rely on the wind protection score for the coming night. Click to edit.
The visits are retrieved from AIS data. You can click to see all visiting ships to Nærøyfjorden, Holmaviki, as well as statistics about the ships that visits
