description

At the northernmost tip of Nord-Koster lies a hidden little harbor. On certain days, you can stay here completely alone, but when the weather is inviting for beach life, it can get quite crowded. The bay is open to the north, so this is not a place to stay in a north wind. The waves can build up all the way from Hvaler.

The approach is quite simple. The safest route is to go west of Kornskär and keep to the middle of the bay as you go inward. Outside the tongue of land that juts out a little east of the middle of the bay, it is 1.8 meters deep. Motorboats can stay along this point. Here the depth is 1-1.5 meters. Further out in the bay, it is deep enough to moor bow-to-shore against the rock even for sailboats. Here, you will be a bit more unsettled if there is some swell.

The sandy beach at Norra Vikarna is a paradise for families with children. The sand is the finest white powder, and there are rocks and grass around. Here, summer days can pass at a leisurely pace. If the sea breeze picks up from the southwest, both boat and bathers will be sheltered and comfortable.
