Extremely beautiful small village that is worth the trip. Far fewer tourists than many other places on Elba and many local residents in both the harbour, the boats, and at the restaurants. A somewhat hidden gem along the east coast which you should visit if you have some time to spare!

But... this is definitely a harbour that is a bit for the 'experienced' as there is little help to get in the form of harbour staff in RIBs meeting you on the water (not that it's common in Norway anyway) and some sharp turns in a small harbour. Even though it wasn't blowing directly into the harbour, old sea and swells affected the harbour basin and caused a lot of movement in some older floating docks. It can also be a bit tricky to try to moor just as the ferry comes in and is to moor at its own quay.

But despite a somewhat 'tired' marina, the village of Rio Marina is absolutely worth the trip!
