We were there at the end of July 2025.
Sand in Suldal municipality is a nice place to visit. Here there is a good guest harbour right by the Ryfylke Fjord Hotel, where you can dock at Y-berths and alongside the quay.
Everything you need such as food/clothing stores, a liquor store, pharmacy, restaurants, and hiking opportunities are located nearby. Sand motorsport center will surely help you if you have problems with your engine.
We had a little lunch at Sjøhuset, which has good food. We also had dinner at the Ryfylke Fjord Hotel, and it is recommended. Here you can also play shuffleboard.
You can follow a trail up to the Salmon Studio / Suldalslågen to see the salmon waiting to swim up the river. The Salmon Studio costs 40 NOK for entry.
Be a bit aware when it comes to fishing near the harbour, as there are restrictions in some areas.
Regarding the conditions in the harbour, there is some swell when the express boats arrive and depart.
The depth is about 2 meters.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 2 hours and 2 minutes ago (Thursday 18 September 09:27 PM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
