Populær og trygg vik å legge seg inn i for, spesielt seilbåter som legger seg på svai her.
En kan også fint legge seg opp i mot land på babord side inne i vika.
Pass opp for grunne på 0,7 meter etter inngangen på styrbord side.
Godt dreggfeste i mudderbunn.

Lengst inn til styrbord er det vigslet jord som ble brukt som gravplass for strandvaskere og sjøfolk som døde av pest/kolera. 6 islendere ble begravet her etter forlis rett utenfor Vikelen i begynnelsen av 1800-tallet. Jobben ble gjort av dem som fikk beholde vrakrester som tauer og seil/materialer som ble funnet etter forliset.
En av disse måtte bli gravd opp igjen i påsyn av fogden etter en tid. Årsaken til det var at det gikk stygge rykter om at de var begravd grunt, nakne, uten bønn/salmesang og ikke i vigslet jord. Ryktene ble da gjort til skamme, og de svartsyke ryktemakerne ble straffet. (Fogden orket ikke å verifisere alle da de var i så sterk forråtnelse.)
