Smøgen er et av de mest kjente stedene på kysten og det er mye folk her i sesongen, både båtfolk og bilfolk. Smøgen ligger på en øy med broforbindelse. Gjestehavnen ligger i den gamle fiskehavnen – en lang kile innover øya. De fleste av de gamle fiskerbodene er gjort om til sommerbutikker og restauranter. Stedet har fortsatt en viss sjarm selv om det er blitt veldig komersielt. Her samles alle – fra små båter til store yachter. Særlig den ytre delen av havna er preget av fest og fyll i høysesongen. Lenger inn er det mer fredlig.

Hvis man går langs bryggene innover kilen og videre, kommer man til en fin badeplass med svaberg og stupetårn. I godvær er det mye folk her. Det går også en tursti videre utover øya.

På fjellet innerst i kilen ligger en minigolfbane med utsikt over skjærgården.

Det er gjesteplasser på begge sider av kilen, men det er på høyre side det foregår. Legger du til på venstre side, er det langt å gå rundt, men det går en liten ferge over. De fleste plassene på høyre siden er plasser som må reserveres på dockspot.com. I høysesongen må du reservere minst to dager i forveien for å få plass. Innerst og ytterst finnes ikke-reserverte plasser. Ikke vær redd for å gå lang inn i høyre løp, det er mulig å snu helt innerst.
