Innseiling og maritime forhold: Solstråleøya ligger utenfor Godøsund Fjordhotell (ex hotell, området er ikke i drift). Begge de omtalte trebryggene (kaien ved ved huset kan ikke benyttes om huset er utleid) har god dybde for seilbåter. Kaien ved huset kan være litt sjenert av småbåttrafikk, mens kaien på Nordsiden kan få litt sjø i Nordlige vinder.
Ankring: Det er 3 brygger på Solstråleøya. Bryggen nedenfor huset er privat (kystlaget sin), ring telefonnummeret som stå på kaien og hør om huset er utleid. Om ikke kan du sikkert få ligge der mot å betale en liten leie. Lengre inne i sundet (retning Våge) er en liten flytebrygge som er egnet for mindre båter. På nordsiden av øyen ligger en trekai som er et friområde, her kan en ligge fritt. Flott opparbeidet område med benker og bålpanne på land. På denne kaien er det og tilgjengelig landstrøm (mot gebyr, gratis å ligge på selve kaien). Det er kun lengde til en båt, eventuelt ligge på utsiden av hverandre.
Området: Frittgående høner på øyen om sommeren, egg kan plukkes og en vippser beløpet. Mange små turveier og informasjonstavler om øyens historie.
