Natural harbour
Region: Norway (3278), Troms og Finnmark (454), Finnmark (224) and Alta (27)

description
Approach and Maritime Conditions: The floating dock at Nordmannsneset. Easy approach, but the dock is not easily visible until you are very close. It is shallow towards the shore, but drops off steeply. We stayed with a sailboat that has a draft of 2.05 meters and had almost half the boat outside the dock.
Anchoring: Depths at the floating dock relative to the chart datum, measured with a sounding line at the bollards, are from the innermost: 2.1 - 3.6 - 5.1 meters. There is also good holding ground for anchoring between the river outlets at about 8 meters depth. Be aware of the swinging circle, somewhat shallow towards the south.
The Area: A hike up to the waterfalls in Melkelva is recommended. About an hour round trip. Some steep ascent, so shoes with good soles are recommended.
