If you do not get a spot inside the inner guest harbor, you are very exposed to waves. Especially from the ferry which creates large waves both late and early. We were docked at the quay (permanent pier) and thought we would fall out of bed in the morning when the boat arrived.

The playground on the quay is gone but it is a short distance to the school for playing.

Nice harbour, but the beach quickly gets very 'polluted' from diesel and gasoline spills, and waste water from boats in the inner harbour.
Austevoll swimming area is nearby, with reasonable prices. Restaurant and shop within walking distance. Nice hiking loop of about 6 km, with a barbecue hut by a lake about halfway through the hike.

New fine quay and floating dock. Has received low ratings on maritime quality due to a low 'gate' that one has to go under to get ashore from the floating dock. See picture. This is difficult to see in the dark. Reported it to the harbour and hope they change it.
