Strømstad is a pleasant small town, but I rarely make my sailing trip here. Koster is more charming and is located just outside. However, if the weather is bad or we need to shop for something other than food, we pay Strømstad a visit.

In Strømstad, we find a number of pleasant outdoor restaurants and cafés, the Systembolag (state-run alcohol store), and shops. SeaSea boat equipment is available in the harbor. There is a square by the harbor where there is a market with many cheap goods in the summer. There is also an old town in Strømstad with cobblestone streets and wooden houses.

The inner harbor is located right by the center and is a good harbor within a breakwater, but it is often full. The outer harbor is more exposed, but you lie safely at the floating piers. Toilet and shower facilities are available in the harbor. Fuel is available at Strømstad Marina on the other side of the bay.
