Ekenäs i nord-øst er den største havnen på Syd-Koster. Den ligger lunt til for sydvesten. Innenfor moloen ligger man godt for alle vinder, men flytebryggene nord for moloen er utsatt for nordavinden. Det er strøm på bryggene, men ikke vann. På Ekenäs er det hotell, to restauranter og en kiosk. Det er 10 minutters gange til en fin strand på nordsiden av øya. 2 km. til butikken midt på øya.

Syd-Koster er den største øya og der hvor det er mest liv. Den er ganske flat og har et vakkert kulturlandskap med enger og beitemarker. Det finnes en rekke restauranter og kafféer og en nå splitter ny (2016) minigolfbane med kunstgress. Ved havnene kan man leie sykkel for å komme seg rundt på øya. Det anbefales på det sterkeste. Det er landhandel og is-bar midt på øya. Det kan være mye trafikk av trehjulsmopeder og sykler på veiene.
