Nice place to spend a day or two. Here you have mini golf, a small water park, a jumping pillow, a bouncy castle, and more. The children really appreciated a stop here.
We arrived here on August 5th, and it was obviously off-season. The harbor has a capacity for 250 boats, and there were only three boats here. According to the harbor master, it was completely full just a week and a half earlier.
The outermost piers have buoys for stern mooring. The middle piers have Swedish mooring lines. If you arrive off-season, you can lie alongside.
Be aware that it is shallow in the innermost part of the harbor. The innermost floating pier cannot be used by sailboats. The second innermost can only be accessed from the outside.

TanumStrand is a very good alternative to staying in Grebbestad. A much calmer and more pleasant harbor unless you want to have the whole 'dock party' onboard the boat as you can quickly get in Grebbestad.
Grebbestad is a 15-minute walk from TanumStrand and if you plan to do major shopping, it might be wise to take the dinghy to the innermost part of the harbor basin in Grebbestad where you will find 2 grocery stores, a Systembolaget, and fishmongers.
At TanumStrand, you can eat indoors at the hotel or at their own pizzeria on the dock.
During the peak season, there are Beach Parties at TanumStrand daily or on weekends, so it can be lively here too, but it usually takes place between 16-19.
There are very nice bathing spots on and around TanumStrand, a mini-golf course, a diving center, SUP rental, and more. There is also a small shop that sells fresh baked goods every day, as well as some of the most essential items if something is forgotten.
Mooring is primarily done with the bow/stern to the dock and mooring to buoys. If you have boats 45 feet+ the buoys start to struggle to hold the boat well so you can lie alongside the outermost floating dock, but there will be some traffic waves, as well as some disturbance from the sea when there is an onshore wind.
Outside of the season, they allow more alongside berths inside the harbor.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 2 hours and 10 minutes ago (Saturday 22 August 03:28 AM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
The safe wind directions for this harbour has been decided by an algorithm, based on how elevated the land around the harbour is. It's mostly correct, but sometimes the underlying data about elevation levels is not good enough to make correct decisions. It's a great help to other if you can validate or adjust the safe wind directions. You can see the data used by the algorithm to decide the safe wind directions by clicking here.
