Uvår, or more precisely Uvårkilen, is one of the better anchorages along the coast. The approach is fine, but be aware of the shoal at Brennevinsodden (the outermost point)-there have indeed been ships that have run aground on the reef here by accident.
The island has limited dock space, so I recommend anchoring with the bow in if possible. If the dock is full, there is good depth along the rock that extends westward from the outermost dock.
There is seaweed on the bottom, and from experience, you should drop anchor early to dig down to good holding ground.
Uvår is one of Norway's southernmost fishing villages and was an important place for fishermen in the past.

very challenging to find a hold for the anchor here. Admittedly, there is a mud/sand bottom, but the very thick layer of grass/seagrass on top meant that at least our anchor did not find a proper hold.

Outer quay is a bit shallow for sailboat, but with the bow far out is better. With 1.7m keel I was fine there. See picture
