Ankret på 8 meters dyp (høyvann) utenfor stranden midt på Vetøya. Med 30 meter kjetting ute var det tilstrekkelig svingrom. Tok ikke sjansen på bøya. Ekkoloddet viste 3.8 meter ved høyvann. Noe snaut for seilbåt ved lavvann inn mot stranda?

Innseiling og maritime forhold: Vettøya ligger i sundet rett sør av Helnesund i Steigen. Her er det flere leder å følge, men mye holmer, grunner og skjær så følg med på kartplotter og visuelt. Det er mulig å ankre her, men ikke så god plass på fornuftig dybde dersom bøya på østsiden av øya er i bruk. Er den ledig så anbefales den for enkelhets skyld.
Ankring: 5-10m

Bøye fra KNBF ligger i bukta øst for vettøya. Mulig å ankre også men begrenset med plass om man ønsker å ankre på fornuftig dybde. Man ligger greit beskyttet mot sjø inne mellom holmer og skjær men som vanlig her oppe kan det blåse friskt.
Området: Vel inne på øya finnes det et par strender og muligheter for god utsikt om man kommer seg litt opp i høyden. Rester av militært anlegg fra krigens dager finnes. Kort vei til Helnesund om man må proviantere.
