Approach: The harbour is a convenient stop for sailors traveling through nearby lakes such as the Braassemermeer, the Wijde Aa, and the Kagerplassen. Sailors with boats under 145 cm in height can reach the city of Leiden by boat in 30 minutes, or by bike in 20 minutes. The harbour offers a peaceful setting with easy access to nearby cultural and natural attractions.

Facilities: The harbour offers a variety of facilities, including toilets, showers, a washing machine, and a dryer, all accessible to visitors. A first aid cabinet, an AED, and a diesel pump with gas cylinder depot are also available. Drinkable water is provided for free, and electricity is charged via the marina card. There is an open WiFi network named 'HotspotDoeshaven'.
Harbour Master: The harbour master, Jacques Hoogeveen, is available to assist visitors, with a deputy, Dick van de Rest, in his absence. Visitors can contact the harbour master via email or phone for any questions or concerns.
Access and Security: The harbour is secured with cameras and an electronic gate that closes after sunset. Visitors are provided with a marina card, which grants access to the harbour and can also be used for payments.
Local Attractions: The harbour is close to Leiden, a city rich in culture and history. Nearby, there are also scenic walking routes, parks, and bird-watching areas. Information about local attractions can be found at the harbour building or on visitleiden.nl.

Other Amenities: Bicycles are available to borrow from the harbour master. The harbour also hosts an annual Doeshaven concert, a popular event for local residents and visitors alike.
