Boats over 20ft need to moor on the south side on a fixed quay, I would guess space for around 8 boats. Reasonably good chance of availability. Very well sheltered in all conditions.
What is not well advertised is that on Wednesdays and Thursdays they have dance events on in the evening from 1930-2130 where they plug a sound system into the pontoon electric outlets and play music loudly on the quay which will be right next to your boat (as in, potentially 2m away!). Was here on the Wednesday which is apparently the quieter night, and it was very loud! Absolute nightmare if you have kids or want to relax, would avoid at all costs on days unless you are happy not being on your boat during these times.
Outside of that, Sandnes is a lovely town, has nice food outlets that are well priced, and the science museum is great for kids and adults alike. Some good playparks. Showers and laundry facilities are decent and there is a supermarket 50m from the mooring which is really handy. Just be aware of events on as listed above! Am not aware of any on at the weekend but it is difficult to find out where they are advertised so they may be other events that I am not aware of.

The harbour is located in the center of Sandnes. Many shops and eateries nearby.
On the nautical chart (Navionics), it appears that the floating pier extends further than it actually does, and that you have to navigate through very shallow waters - this is not correct. It is not a problem to come in here with our depth of 2.2 meters.
Only the quays on the south and north sides are guest harbours - the pier in the middle belongs to the boating association and is not public. In the northern part, only boats up to 20 feet are allowed. For boats over 20 feet, space is limited, not more than about 10 boats can fit here.
The website was quite outdated in the summer of 2025 - the service pier is open and very nice, with showers, toilets, and a washing machine.
In the summer, it can be a bit noisy here, as there are many activities happening in the harbour right by the guest pier.
