The first time I was in Grebbestad in 1983, there was nothing in the guest harbor except for some workshops and a fish market. The town was located far inland and there was not much happening there either. The only reason to go to Grebbestad was that there was a liquor store there. But later the guest harbor was expanded with wide wooden docks, and the old workshops were converted into restaurants and summer shops. Today the harbor is quite attractive, especially for those who love shopping. There is a beach outside the pier.

There is live music played at one of the restaurants on the dock every night during the season until 11 PM, and there are many people on the docks. Therefore, I prefer to stay on the floating dock on the islet at the far end of the pier, where it is more peaceful. There it is also possible to grill and swim. There is electricity and water on the docks. Do not use an anchor; there are mooring buoys or ropes from the docks. Groceries and a liquor store can be found inside Grebbestad, about 1 km from the guest harbor. On the other side of the bay, a little further in, there is a marina with fuel and boat equipment.
