Descriptions and reviews

Stig Ulfsby says:

description

Åstol is a small, round island densely packed with old houses. It is only 700 meters in diameter, but 300 people live here, plus many summer guests. The island was developed during the herring fishing period in the 1700s, and there are still fishermen here. However, the buildings today are more modern.

The island is located just north of Marstrand and is therefore easy to sail past. But it is definitely worth a visit - it is an idyll. The harbour is located in a cove that cuts into the island from the east. It is a good harbour in all wind directions, but an east wind can be a bit strong.

There is a small shop on the island and a smokehouse and restaurant northeast in the harbour. Water on the dock. Diesel at the smokehouse.

maritime qualities

description

Cozy little island with a dedicated children's bath. Small shop on the island with a decent selection. Restaurant Røkeriet is recommended. There is also a cozy cafe in the harbor.

Slightly larger boats are moored alongside the pier. On the north side, there are fixed stern moorings. Cozy harbor master.

In good weather conditions, you can take the dinghy to Marstrand for those who wish.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.

The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 1 hour and 59 minutes ago (Monday 19 May 07:28 AM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
