Kostersundet is a pleasant but also well-trafficked area. You are well sheltered from strong winds, even though they are noticeable, the boats remain quite steady since no sea gets through the strait.

In addition to the regular spots at the floating docks, there is a double spot at the crane quay as shown in the picture. This place is reserved for boats between 15-20 meters. There is a fair amount of ferry traffic here, but personally, we think it's nice not to have boats in front and behind, so it suits us well.

WC and showers are available right by the guest pier. The harbour office is located a few hundred meters further away where the route boat docks. Payment information is posted on the pier itself, where you moor, you pay via mobile. There are two guest harbors on Nord-Koster: One in Kostersundet and one at Vettnett in the northeast.

The guest harbor in Kostersundet (this one) is the largest. There is a long floating dock in the strait. The southwest wind blows strong through Kostersundet, but the sea remains calm and it is safe to dock. Most of the buildings, as well as restaurants and other activities, are located here. A beautiful sandy beach is located in Basteviken, 750 meters across the island. There is a small cable ferry to Syd-Koster.

Nord-Koster is a bit smaller than Syd-Koster and large parts of the island are a nature reserve. The built-up area is therefore significantly smaller and it is possible to get around on foot.
