Bare Naked Bay is located on the north end of Lake St. Clair, between Belvidere Boat Club and Poorman's Yacht Club. The name "Bare Naked Bay" is not recorded in any official maps, but the local folklore say that the nickname "Bare Naked Bay" was earned many years ago when a local beauty came here for a daily swim. The crowds would follow, and by the end of summer the bay was full of people hoping to get a glance of the natural beauty of the surroundings.
