description
Went here to hide from Bora. Fairly protected although the mountain behind is probably one of the origins of the Bora itself. Harbour has all the amenities and you dock the regular stern-to way. Had lots of strong gusts through the night, but the dock is somewhat protected by all the buildings behind. When strong wind comes from the mountain you don't get any odd wind angles when docking - it's from behind - which is nice.
Town is quite developed with lots of tourists and all the good and the bad that comes with that. Lots of restaurant.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 2 hours and 59 minutes ago (Tuesday 04 November 08:17 PM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.

Makarska is surrounded by high hills or mountains. When strong winds come from the mountainous side there is a risk of turbulent or katabatic winds (also called "fall winds"), which may be rather unpleasant. In such conditions, you should not rely on the wind protection score for the coming night. Click to edit.
