Approach and Maritime Conditions: Fjelldal Boat Association is centrally located in Tjeldsundet. There are two alternative approaches. Approach from the north along the west side of Fjelldalsholmen. Watch out for reefs to the west. Approach from the east side of Fjelldalsholmen. Be aware of shallow waters southeast of the islet. Other than the mentioned reefs and shallow areas, there is good depth for sailboats as well.
Docking: Guest dock 15 meters. Good depth. Sheltered harbor in most weather conditions, but be cautious of stronger northern winds that enter the harbor. Good sandy bottom at 5-10 meters on the east side of Fjelldalsholmen is an alternative for those who wish to anchor.
The Area: Fjelldal Ramstad has about 350 inhabitants. At Fjelldal, you will find Norway's Fire School. As of today, there is no grocery store or similar at the location.
The guest dock has a clubhouse with toilet and shower. It is possible to rent a washing machine upon request. The guest dock has power and water filling facilities.
At Fjelldal, there are several opportunities for hiking and activities. A hike up to Ramflåget Skruven gives a nice viewpoint over Tjeldsundet. If you wish for a longer hike, you can continue up to Kvitfjellet/Fjelldalsheia. Around here, you will find several hiking trails in marked terrain. If you have children with bicycles onboard, Fjelldal Sports Club has established a bike track at its sports facility, in addition to an artificial turf field and a ball court. Right next to the sports facility, there is a shelter with possibilities for grilling and campfires.
Fuel - 500 meters to the east, you will find Haltbakk Bunkers' fueling facility where it is possible to refuel diesel and gasoline from a floating dock. Note that a special card from Haltbakk Bunkers is required. It can be easily ordered on the company's website. Additionally, Knapphus Energi has a fueling facility at Rødskjær, directly across Tjeldsundet. Most bank cards can be used here.
