The harbor is cozy and nice, well sheltered by Flatøya. Beautiful view of Flatøya and the mountains in Vefsn. You can moor at a floating dock. Guests lie alongside the square-shaped floating dock at the very end. The depth around the dock is very good. Not much rough sea, perhaps a bit more in winter than in summer, after all, we are in Nordland. Still, the harbor is located exactly between the outer Helgeland and Lomsdal Visten National Park, which lies on the other side of Stokkafjord, as soon as you exit Flatøysundet. There are many rock carvings in Røøyen, especially the Valen Rock Carving Field where you will find the famous "Rødøymannen" also called the "Skier on Tro", actually the "Skier in Valen". You can also take a boat near the rock carving field, but it is difficult to dock and moor the boat, somewhat difficult to find a path to get up. But a short walk. On Flatøya, there is also an exciting rock carving field. It is best visited in the spring, in April or May before the nature becomes overgrown with herbs and grass. On the other side of the Stokkafjord, you have access to Lomsdal Visten National Park. You should pack your hiking gear in a bag, as the rules state. It is possible to sail into Visten and to Bønå or Aursletta, which is not far away. You can walk to the National Park from Bønå farm, where you can also get accommodation. On Lauvøylandet, where the marina is located, there are many hiking opportunities, and great summit hikes among them Trohatten or Tårnet. Røyfjellet a few kilometers away gives a good sense of achievement and is rewarded with a fantastic view of both the outer Helgeland and the mountains in inner Helgeland. There is good fishing nearby. Not far to Forvik, where there is a restaurant in the summer. On Lauvøylandet, there is Haugen Camping, where you can book accommodation in the former school building at the former Lauvøylandet school (also known as Tro School). Currently, there are also people offering Airbnb nearby.

The dangerous areas are well marked. There is a reef nearby to the west; at high tide, the rocky ground will be poorly visible. I didn't even know there was a guest harbor there. Nearby is a lovely, natural bathing beach, and a grassy plain where you can spread out a towel or beach mat, bring a small folding chair, etc. A nice grill that is made from the old, broken drinking fountain at the former Tro School. Fantastic grill! No floating dock to moor the boat to. Likely a fastening point in the rock or similar. Amazingly fine view of the Forvik Mountains to the south and Høyholmstindan and towards Visten and the sailing route between Forvik and Tjøtta.
