God dybde inn til bryggene og for seilbåter. Man ligger longside på utsiden eller på innsiden. Dersom man skal på innsiden av nordre brygge vær klar over en vire fra bryggen i retning nord mot fergekaien. Bryggene er utsatt for sjø fra forbipasserende båter i sundet og vind fra sør, nord og øst.

Stedet har en flott hage med diverse beplantning og historien til stedet, skapt av Hilma Svedahl, er fengende (https://www.vastsverige.com/stromstad/produkter/alaska/) . På sommeren er det åpen kiosk med enkel servering.
