Ankring: Det er to grunner ytterst i innseilingen som ikke er merket, men de vises i kartet. Når man er på vei inn i selve Øynarvågen, så er det grunt et stykke ut på vestre side. Denne grunnen vises ikke i kartet, men ved å zoome inn på området på gulesider kart (google maps funker ikke), så vil man se hvor denne grunnen er.
Området: En fredelig plass uten innsyn fra bebyggelse. Det er noe grunt ved bryggen, så seilbåter må ligge med baugen inn. Her kan man gå tur til toppen av øya, Borgøyhatten, som er 292 meter høy. Litt lenger sør på øya er det gjestebrygge, kafeteria, fastboende og hyttefolk. Borgøy er også kjent som bosted for maleren Lars Hertervig, inntil han og familien tok med seg hele huset sitt og flyttet til Stavanger.
