Gaukværøy: Skjæra utenfor beskytter mot sjø og svell. Ved første øyekast på kartet så er det urent farvann, men kartene er gode og det er enkelt å finne sikker rute inn og ut fra havna.
Gaukværøy har en karakteristisk form som gjør den lett å se på lang avstand. Ankringsplassen ligger ved den minste toppen til venstre på bildet. Ankring inne i den gamle havna, med god holdebunn på 7m. Sandbunn. Ligger ei fortøyingsbøye der med ukjent bunnfeste.

Gaukværøy hadde 120 innbyggere på det meste i begynnelsen av 1900. Det er satt opp en palakat som forteller om stedets historie. Nå finnes bare kjellerruiner igjen av husene som stod på øya. Den ble fraflyttet av de siste like etter krigen, og da gjorde material mangel at husene ble demontert og flyttet inn på fastlandet. Derfor finnes ikke noe trevirke igjen på hustuftene. Det går en sti langs hele yttersiden av øya, som fører mellom de tre bosetningene som var her. Kravler du deg opp på en av toppene eller salen i mellom dem ser du inn til Bø og Hadseløya.
