Innseiling og maritime forhold: Flott naturhavn ytterst ved havet, vest for Byrknesøy. Er utsatt for vind fra vest, i såfall kan bukter lengre inn i sundene gi bedre le.

Innseiling enten fra havet via Grønøysund eller fra sør via Hjeltøysund. Nordre Grønøysun er ikke farbart grunnet liten dybde (ca 1 mtr).

I adkomsten er man utsatt for sjø fra havet. Adkomst via Hjeltøysund/sør krever at man følger med i kartet da det utfra Byrknes er såkalt paddemark, det er grunt i nordre del av Hjeltøysundet, ca 1,5-2 mtr.
Ankring: Med anker mot land eller event på svai. Noen fortøyningsbolter fra fiskeflåten. God dybde inn mot land, og god hold for dreggen.
Området: Flotte svaberg og fin utsikt til havet. Her er man i ødemarken og det er en ‘vill’ plass. Havørn i området og godt fiske. Flere bukter like ved har irrgrønn sjøbunn fra skjellsand.

Kort vei til Byrknes hvor vann, diesel og proviant er tilgjengelig.
