Innseiling og maritime forhold: Marmorøyene ligger midt i Nordåsvannet, tilgjengelig via strømmen på Straume fra Dolviken/Grimstadfjorden.

I strømmen setter vannet opp i 5-6 knop avhengig av tidevannet. Ellers lett tilgjengelig uten nevneverdige hinrdinger.

Grunnet Straumebro egner ikke dette stedet seg for seilbåter.
Ankring: Fortøyning i hovedsak med dregg mot land, men mindre båter (<26 fot) kan ligge på flytebrygge, denne er dog kun egnet for kortere opphold.

Bolter i fjellet flere steder i hovedsak i området rundt broene.
Området: Friluftsområde drevet av BOF.

Fine badeviker, svaberg, gresssletter, gapahuk, stupebrett, gangbroer og gode stier i skogen.

Interessant øy da det i eldre tider har vært marmorbrudd som blant annet har levert marmor til Christianborg slott i København.

Øyen har også bøkeskog.
