Innseiling og maritime forhold: Naturskjønn og nordvendt bukt på utsiden av øya Austra, rett overfor Skei på Leka. Ligger omkranset av frodige og massive fjell. Inne på land er det åkre som hører til en nærliggende bondegård. Innseilingen er enkel og grei. Det er et fergeleie litt nordover som fører til noen vuggende bølger inne i vika.
Ankring: I Rossvika er det ganske bratt under vann. Dybden er fra 5-20 meter, med en dyprenne rundt 20 meter. Det kan derfor være litt utfordrende å få godt feste, men det går med noen forsøk. Et alternativ er å legge ankeret dypt, og gjøre seg fast i solide bolter øst i vika. Da trekker du ankeret etter deg inn på grunnere vann, og du får bedre feste.
