Even though a small point may protect from the chop coming from the north, Selvågen is, above all, a good anchorage for sheltering from southern winds.
There are several anchoring options: either on the threshold, at a depth of 16 to 17 meters, or on one of the sides, at a depth of 4 to 10 meters, on a seabed of mud and shells.
On land, several groups of reindeer can be seen grazing.
