Jeg var i Skärhamn første gang i 1984. Jeg skulle bytte mannskap og vi skulle feire av- og påmønstring. Men vi fant bare en bensinstasjon med et gatekjøkken og byen var heller ikke spesielt sjarmerende. Det skulle gå nesten 30 år før jeg kom tilbake. Da var det skjedd store forandringer. Ytterst i havneområdet er det bygget en rekke restauranter og Nordiska Akvarellmuseet er bygget her. Det er en flott, moderne bygning som passer godt inn i miljøet og plassert helt i vannkanten. Er man kunstinteressert, er det verdt et besøk. Vil man spise, er restauranten i museet et godt alternativ med sin flotte beliggenhet og stil.

Det har også kommet ny gjestehavn. Den ligger innenfor den store småbåthavna på noen skjær. Her er det veldig trivelig; brygger med bord og benker, grillplasser og små sjøhus med toalett og dusj.

Selve byen er en blanding av nye og gamle hus og gatekjøkkenet er her fortsatt. Deler av byen har en viss sjarm, men det er ikke den som er trekkplasteret. Akvarellmuseet, restaurantene ytterst i havenområdet og den koselige gjestehavna gjør den verd et besøk.

Gjestehamn lengst inn bak småbåtshavna. Longside eller liner. Servicehus på den lille øya, grillplasser og benker utenfor. Dockspot.

Hamndjup: 3,5-4,5 m, Gästplatser: 140 plus privata grönskyltade, Förtöjning: fasta linor/boj.
