Stig Ulfsby says:
description
I was in Skärhamn for the first time in 1984. I was supposed to change crew and celebrate the sign-off and sign-on. But we only found a gas station with a snack bar, and the town wasn't particularly charming. It would be almost 30 years before I returned. By then, many changes had taken place. At the outermost part of the harbor area, a number of restaurants have been built, and the Nordic Watercolor Museum has been built here. It is a beautiful, modern building that fits well into the environment and is situated right on the water's edge. If you are interested in art, it is worth a visit. If you want to eat, the restaurant in the museum is a good alternative with its great location and style.
A new guest harbor has also been established. It is located within the large marina on some rocks. It is very pleasant here; docks with tables and benches, grill areas, and small seahouses with toilets and showers.
The town itself is a mix of new and old houses, and the snack bar is still here. Parts of the town have a certain charm, but it is not the main attraction. The Watercolor Museum, the restaurants at the outer harbor area, and the cozy guest harbor make it worth a visit.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 1 hour and 50 minutes ago (Monday 17 March 11:27 AM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
The safe wind directions for this harbour has been decided by an algorithm, based on how elevated the land around the harbour is. It's mostly correct, but sometimes the underlying data about elevation levels is not good enough to make correct decisions. It's a great help to other if you can validate or adjust the safe wind directions. You can see the data used by the algorithm to decide the safe wind directions by clicking here.
